I've been a dreamer all of my life...
I was such a dreamer in Army Basic Training at 18 that I was nailed with the nick name "Major King" when I had only been on active duty less than two months and was still just a Private...but that didn't stop me from dreaming of becoming a fighter pilot and then winning the war in the Pacific...
I recall what was probably my first dream...
As a young nine year old Texas boy
who was now living in Arkansas...
I dreamed about getting rich
traping and selling Rabbit Hides...
(I don't imagine that the Rabbits in my neighborhood were too excited about that dream)
But they had absolutely nothing to worry about...
if Rabbits worry...
Because even though I went so far as to build a Rabbit trap
And then I kept it baited for I don't know how long...
Bottom line...I've yet to catch my first Rabbit...
And that was 71 years ago.
So much for that dream...
This song, "DO YOU HAVE ANY DREAMS?" is all that remains of a big dream I had back in the early eighties, a dream that expanded my thinking to the point that for the first time in my life I could actually visualize myself earning in excess of $25,000 a month.
That was quite a leap for me for it was still fresh in my mind that $600 a month was far out.
AND ALL THE TIME GOD wanted me to expand my thinking to the point that I could visualize SOMETHING MORE VALUABLE THAN THE ENTIRE WORLD AND EVERYTHING IN IT...
ONE HUMAN SOUL...
Jesus knew that there was that much value to just one human soul...
That's why He paid the price...so that we...
WHOSOEVER WILL...might live...both NOW...
and FOREVER WITH HIM IN HEAVEN.
I've had many other dreams over the years...but I will not bore you with all of the details...only to say that most of those dreams had only to do with stuff...things...ego...
all of which seemed terribly important at the given moment when in reality they were all so very insignificant when compared to the really important things in this brief life...such as relationships...OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH FAMILY...FRIENDS...ASSOCIATES...
AND MOST IMPORTANT OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR CREATOR...
JESUS CHRIST!
Here in the twilight years of my life I am happy to report that I am still a dreamer, but now all of my dreams are centered around...focused on Jesus Christ

You know, that's what I want to be...running over with hope! I want to dare to throw my whole life and everything I have into building a dream that comes from the heart of God. I want to get out there so far that without God's help, I can't get back.
Many people don't think that way though because they're afraid to fail. Fear of failure is dangerous. If you let it dominate you, it will cause you to do the one thing that inevitably guarantees failure and that's not attempting at all.
How do you counteract the fear of failure?
You turn up your hope. You get alone with God and listen to Him. You meditate on His promises until the picture is so clear on the inside of you that nothing can jar it out of you.
If you're lying on a sickbed and the doctor has told you you'll never walk again, instead of wallowing around in that bad report, you start dreaming. You start building a dream of climbing mountains and witnessing to people in the backwoods. Go to the Word that promises that those who wait upon the Lord shall run and walk and not faint or be weary. Look at it until you see nothing else. Picture yourself walking for miles and running from one place to the next, telling everyone that Jesus has raised you up and made you whole.
That's what hope is all about. It's a divine dream. It's an inner image that's bigger than you are because it's built on the promises of God.
If you're a Christian, you ought to be a dreamer. Take the Word of God and build some dreams today.
