51~God's Word Will Set You Free

When I woke up this morning I heard some lady on the radio saying something along this line...
"You don't have to be lonely and depressed. I was lonely and depressed for many years and then I worked out a formula for overcoming loneliness and depression...and I'll tell you how it's done"
I was thinking...
"You are so right lady about one thing...
"NO ONE HAS TO BE LONELY AND DEPRESSED"
I don't know what your formula is
but I do know the solution...
to the problem of loneliness and depression"
And before breakfast...
I had received another beautiful song and this is it:
"GOD'S WORD WILL SET YOU FREE"
This reminds me of something Jesus says
which I find recorded here
in the 8th Chapter of The Gospel of John.
"If you continue in my Word,
Then you are my disciple indeed.
And you shall know Me,THE TRUTH,
And I, THE TRUTH will make you FREE".

As the song says:
"God's Word Will Set You FREE"
GREAT!
But just what is God's Word...that will set you FREE?
I grew up believing as many people do that the Bible was the Word of God.
And I wanted to really know the Bible from cover to cover so that I could be "A WALKING BIBLE"
A walking know it all is more like it.
Being a slow learner I finally came around to hearing what Jesus has to say about the subject.
And by the way...regardless of the subject...Jesus always has something to say about it...
And if we keep reading and studying the Bible we will sooner or later find what it is that Jesus has to say about the particular subject.
Jesus says it and I found it...
Where He defines the Word of God.
I found it here in the Gospel of John and this is what Jesus has to say about the subject:
THE WORD OF GOD DEFINED
"Search the Scriptures (The Bible),for in them,
(the Scriptures...The Bible)
You think you have eternal life (not so)
They (The Scriptures...The Bible)are
they that testify of...point to me...
And you won't come to me
(the only source of Life...
The Living Word of God)
That you might have Life"
Jesus is saying as plainly as possible
that HE(Jesus)IS THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.
Well?
If Jesus IS THE LIVING WORD OF GOD...and HE IS!
Then what IS the Bible?
The answer seems rather obvious...
The Bible IS the PRINTED FORM of THE WORD OF GOD.
And as such The Bible IS the most valuable and precious book in print anywhere in the world! Not to be worshiped as some have a tendency to do...but to be studied,learned and most importantly...LIVED...ON A DAILY BASIS!
Another test IS:
What will be the final destination for ALL BIBLES?
Jesus says, as recorded in the Bible
That the world and everything in it will be burned up...
Does that include ALL BIBLES?
Of course it does...
HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY...
BUT MY WORD(GOD'S WORD) SHALL NEVER PASS AWAY!
In refering to the Bible as the Word of God when Jesus IS the Word of God,I find a similar situation when Jesus was explaining Lazarus' condition to His disciples.
Remember Jesus was using the words sleep and death interchangeably.
Even so, now instead of wanting to know the Bible
in order to become a walking Bible,
my one over riding desire...passion...
IS to know Jesus, the Living Word of God
so as to be doing His bidding
and I have already learned
that doing His bidding begins with being
PATIENT, KIND AND NEVER DEMANDING MY OWN WAY...
and furthermore,it is non of my business
what His bidding IS for you.
I believe I hear Him saying to me...
IF YOU LOVE ME...FEED MY LAMBS...
IF YOU LOVE ME...FEED MY SHEEP...
IF YOU LOVE ME...FEED MY SHEEP...
And...Oh Yes,
RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU...
And...LOVE YOUR ENEMIES...
And...TRUST THE LORD COMPLETELY...
And...Don't forget to: PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!
YES...PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING...like in "EVERYTHING"

Our assignment IS to continue looking steadily...
To continue exposing ourselves...OUR HEART AND MIND...
To the Printed form of the Word of God...
The Scripture...The Bible...
While trusting and depending totally on the Holy Spirit
our official teacher to reveal Jesus and His Word to us:
The Holy Spirit WILL do His part so we can focus...
concentrate on doing our part...
Keep looking steadily into God's law for free men...
So that we will remember what it says...
So that we can be doing what it says...
So that God can be freed to...
Greatly bless us...
In every thing we do!
