The Apostle Paul said something to this effect:
I fear...lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ.
THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST...
Yes, a godly Christian life IS a very SIMPLE LIFE.
We simply TRUST THE LORD COMPLETELY...
And simply follow His ever present leading...
Much if not most of my life has been spent wallering in ignorance and failure...
And it was all so unnecessary...
Just recently I was rereading the 8th chapter of the Book of Proverbs...
I've read that before...and not one word has been changed in the thousands of years since it was first written...
And guess what?
At EVERY FORK IN THE ROAD...
Wisdom stands ever ready to assist us in making the right decision...
As we have come to learn...God never forces Himself on us...
How different from so many people who are always attempting to force themselves and their ideas on other people...
That is one way we can tell the difference between a godly person and a religious person...
Godly people never resort to using force...except of course, the force of INTERCESSORY PRAYER...
While many religious people seem to think that force is the only way...
The most powerful force, of course, IS LOVE...
Expressed in this prayer...
"Father, Forgive them for they know not what they do!"
The choice of requesting and taking advantage of God's divine wisdom and help is always ours...
There are no puppets in God's family...
Only intelligent beings who have deliberately chosen Him...
As another one of my songs says...
WE HAVE A CHOICE...WE CAN GO IT ALONE...
OR WE CAN CHOOSE TO GO WITH JESUS...
AND EXPERIENCE THE SIMPLE LIFE OF TRUSTING THE LORD COMPLETELY!
