32~Holy And Acceptable To God

Holy and acceptable to God,
My body, a living sacrifice.
Not conformed to the world in any way,
My body, a living sacrifice.
Holy and acceptable to God,
Transformed by the renewing of my mind.
When I think of all that God has done for me,
It is not too much for HIM to ask of me.
So instead of copying the behavior of this world,
I'll be a new and different person in all I think and do.
Then I will learn from my own experience,
That God's ways will really satisfy my soul.
Holy and acceptable to God,
My body, a living sacrifice.

"GOD'S PURPOSE FOR THE HUMAN BODY"
Notes from Ed King's Daily Diary 12-3-2001
From the Scripture we find that God had a two-fold purpose when HE introduced sex into the human equation and that two-fold purpose was...AND IS...
1. Procreation...and
2. A reward for parenting...
And Scripture makes it very clear that any other use of sex is...ILLEGAL...ILLICIT...AND IS...
AN ABOMINATION TO JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD OUR CREATOR.
SO homosexual sexual behavior is not the only sexual behavior that is an abomination to God.
I do not understand why many of us try tip toeing around the issue of homosexuality when the Bible is very very clear when it comes to the subject of sex.
The Bible is so clear when it tells us ever so plainly who and what not to have sex with and who to have sex with.
The Bible tells us plainly that we are not to have sex with animals, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, grandfathers, grandmothers,grandsons,granddaughters,neighbors, neighbor's wives..in fact, the Bible tells us plainly that if we are to have sex we are to join ourselves to a wife or husband and have sex til death do us part with our one mate. If our mate dies first and we still desire to have sex then we are free to take another mate who does not have a living mate.
All illicit sexual behavior, both heterasexual illicit sexual behavior and homosexual illicit sexual behavior is an abonination to God.
In fact we have one account in Scripture where 23,000 people, apparently all heterasexuals died in one day as a result of illicit sexual behavior.
And we are told about this incident as a warning of what not to do.
Down throughout all of human history men have tried to legitimize the illegal illicit use of sex...even wrapping it in religion from time to time.
But it has never...and will never...get God's approval... who incidentally...
CANNOT...AND WILL NOT...TOLERATE...EVEN THE SLIGHTEST SIN!
As we read God's Word we find that many of the great men of God...including King David of whom God said, "I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my own heart"
We find that many of these great men of God got themselves all tangled up in sexual sin, but when we stick around and get the rest of the story we discover that every one of them paid dearly for this behavior.
I find it very interesting that this great PROMISE of victory over temptation (found in 1st Corinthians 10:13) And probably quoted more times than it is actually claimed for Victory over Temptation.
Is placed right in the middle of God's discussion of sexual sin and just in case we might not be familiar with this great PROMISE here it is:
KJV
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is COMMON TO MAN, but God IS FAITHFUL Who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able(to resist it)"
But will with the temptation also make a way to escape.
Living Bible
"NO TEMPTATION IS IRRESISTIBLE"
You can trust God to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it, for HE has PROMISED this AND GOD WILL DO WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL DO... EVERYTIME!
Romans 6:13
Our bodies were not made for sexual sin...
Our bodies were made for the Lord.
And HE wants to fill our bodies with HIMSELF
This is almost too much to comprehend...
The Almighty Creator of the Universe wants to fill our bodies with HIMSELF.
Why would we ever want any thing less? Why?
And do you know what?
It's not too late for anyone who is listening...
For anyone who will hear and obey HIM...
For anyone who will say,
"Yes, Lord, my body is yours, fill it up with Yourself"
Now let's get practical...
JUST HOW? DOES GOD FILL OUR BODY WITH HIMSELF?
Our body becomes filled with God Himself ONLY AS WE FILL OUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL WITH HIS WORD, Which becomes our daily marching orders for HE only reveals HIMSELF and HIS WORD to those who LOVE and OBEY HIM.
In other words, GOD IS ABLE TO FILL OUR BODY WITH HIMSELF...
ONLY TO THE EXTENT
THAT WE ALLOW OUR EYES TO SEE ONLY HIS WORD...
AND OUR EARS TO HEAR ONLY HIS WORD...
AND OUR HEART TO PONDER ONLY HIS WORD...
AND OUR HANDS AND FEET TO DO ONLY HIS WILL...
ONLY to that extent is God able to fill our body with HIMSELF...
As the saying goes...THE BALL IS IN OUR COURT...
God leaves it entirely up to us...As we have seen through out the Scripture...
God will never force HIMSELF ON US...Remember...One of God's favorite expressions IS: "WHOSOEVER WILL"
James puts it this way in James 1:25
IF ANYONE...Did you get that? IF ANYONE...(WHOSOEVER WILL)
IF ANYONE...
KEEPS LOOKING STEADILY INTO GOD'S LAW FOR FREE MEN...
THEY NOT ONLY WILL REMEMBER IT...
BUT THEY WILL DO WHAT IT SAYS...
AND GOD WILL GREATLY BLESS THEM
IN EVERYTHING THEY DO!
In everything they DO!
As Paul suggests here in Romans 12...
When we think of all that God has done and is still doing for us each moment of our lives...
To present our body as a living sacrifice,
by daily walking in obedience to God and HIS Word
is really not asking too much of us.

Heart to Heart

Isn't it exciting to realize that you can hold the thoughts and feelings and purposes of God's very own heart in your heart?
Isn't it thrilling to know the Creator of heaven and earth wants to be one spirit with you and transmit His thoughts to your mind?
First Corinthians 6:17 says that when you were joined to the Lord you became one spirit with Him. He came into union with you so that He can talk to you heart to heart.
God wants you in this harmony with Him so that His thoughts can become your actions.
He wants you to walk so closely with Him that you never lack power to overcome the evil of this world.
He wants you to be so in tune with His Spirit that you are able to feel His heart of compassion toward those around you who are hurting or bowed down with sickness and pain.
He wants to be one with you, so He can reach out through your hands and fulfill His purposes in the earth.
Make a fresh commitment today to walk in union with your God.
Give your attention to His Spirit in your inner man.
Determine to yield to His voice and not to the voices of the world or the flesh!
Allow the mind of Christ to flow through you!
