This song has far too much "REPETITION" for a lot of folks...
I remember well the professional gospel music critics who proclaimed that my song, "The Nail Scarred Hands" had so much "REPETITION" that it was boring...they would really choke on "GOD LOVES YOU"
Well, I never get BORED or TIRED of telling and hearing about Jesus.
As a matter of fact, I love "REPETITION". Come to think of it, my heart has been beating with continuous "REPETITION" for over 81 years for which I am so very grateful, happy and pleased.
So have my lungs been functioning with the same continuous "REPETITION" during this same 81 year period of time.
Since God is obviously the Author of "REPETITION", I find it a bit unsettling that men would want to talk or argue against "REPETITION".
Every motivational trainer in the world is well aware of the IMPORTANCE AND POWER OF "REPETITION".
I have another song that merely repeats a single statement over and over and over again and I took the words for it directly from the 136th Psalm and I didn't use any where near all the "REPETITION" found in the 136th Psalm.
"HIS LOVINGKINDNESS IS FOREVER"
And, Yes, I could sing and listen to those words over and over and over again all day long.
Speaking of "REPETITION", I recall Peter asking Jesus one day the question, "How often should I forgive someone asking forgiveness? SEVEN TIMES? To which Jesus responded, "No, not seven times, but rather SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN"
And thank God that HE never stops forgiving us, even after 490 times.
If there was ever a book of "REPETITION" it is the Bible.
MY O MY is it ever filled with "REPETITION".
In fact Jesus tells us that the entire Bible can be reduced to just two verses:
1. Love God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.
2. Love everybody else as you love yourself.
And I recall both Peter and Paul saying on occasion that I never get tired of telling you this...even though I know you know it...I'm still going to keep reminding you...just in case you might forget it...
Back to this song: "GOD LOVES YOU"
Many words come to mind that could be inserted in this song and I was tempted to do just that...but somehow I just couldn't bring myself to change even one word of it.
Some how I believe that heaven is going to be filled with "REPETITION"
WORSHIPING JESUS THROUGHOUT ETERNITY...
And why not? Isn't God the God who changes not?
