3~When You Know Jesus ![]() Words & Music by Ed King 6-4-01 When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know that DEATH HAS NO STING. There's something about... The way He says, "FEAR NOT", That drives every fear away. When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know that DEATH HAS NO STING. Yes, you will know...for sure... That DEATH HAS NO STING. When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know there's HEAVEN ON EARTH. There's something about... The way He says,"PEACE BE STILL" That calms the greatest storm. When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know that DEATH HAS NO STING. Yes, you will know...for sure... That DEATH HAS NO STING. Interlude: When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know that LOVE NEVER FAILS. There's something about... The way He says, "I LOVE YOU" That fills every need in my life. When you know Jesus... The way that I know Him, You will know that DEATH HAS NO STING. Yes, you will know...for sure... That DEATH HAS NO STING. Yes, You Will Know...For Sure... That DEATH HAS NO STING. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, there is something about the way He says,"FEAR NOT" that drives every fear away. Let me share a vivid experience of this in my life that took place fifty years ago this month.(This is November 2001 as I share this experience with you.) I was an Air Force Bombardier on a B-29 some 20,000 feet up in the dark night sky over North Korea on the night of November 22, 1951. This particular night the flight path to our assigned target took our aircraft directly over two other primary targets and as a result we found ourselves flying through intense enemy anti-aircraft fire for 22 minutes. That will give the average person plenty of opportunity to "FEAR" But that night something was different. From the moment of the very first burst of anti-aircraft shells, God was speaking these words into my right ear through my right ear and directly into my heart and mind: "HAVE NOT I COMMANDED YOU? BE STRONG AND OF A GOOD COURAGE. BE NOT AFRAID, NEITHER BE THOU DISMAYED. FOR THE LORD THY GOD IS WITH THEE, WHITHERSOEVER THOU GOEST!" (I finally put this beautiful verse to music "TODAY" March 28,2006 and you will find it as song #104) And He continued speaking these same words of encouragement over and over again throughout the entire 22 minutes and the result was that I experienced perfect peace throughout the entire time. Yes, I had memorized that verse of Scripture, Joshua 1:9, several months earlier, but I'm here to tell you that I could have quoted that verse until I became blue in the face and that would never have given me even one moment of peace. Because I believed those words were from God, He was able to speak them to me in my time of need. Merely quoting Bible verses will never bring the desired results... It is only as we speak God's Word using the authority that He gives us knowing and believing it to be the very words of the Living God. My only regret is that I have neglected to stand on His Word so many times since then. I am thrilled to say that now I stand on His Word every day all day and I can't imagine ever not standing on His Word again. In His Faithfulness, Ed King Ezekiel 16:59-63 Here is Gloria Copeland's message on Joshua 1:1-9 that I received August 2, 2004. August 2 - Courage Comes From Faith Dear Edward, "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:9) Courage comes from trusting God. It can't be mentally drummed up. It comes from believing what God says regardless of what the circumstances look like. Courage comes from faith! Where does discouragement come from? From fear and unbelief. It comes when you listen to the devil's lies about what God is not going to do for you. As the people of God, you and I must shake off discouragement and rise up with courage! We must quit looking at our own abilities and failures and limitations and start looking to God. We must rise up in the Name of Jesus and the power of His Spirit and establish the kingdom of heaven upon earth. If you've been discouraged lately, stop listening to Satan's lies. Stop receiving evil reports. Whenever someone tells you God is not going to deliver you, just tell them, "He's already delivered me in the Name of Jesus." Once you begin to realize who you are and what you've been given by the power of God, you'll quit letting the devil run all over you. God didn't suggest that you be strong and courageous. That is His command! Scripture Study: Joshua 1:1-9 If this ministered to you, please share it with a friend! *********************************************************** And here is Kenneth Copeland's message concerning the relationship between our words and our faith. Kenneth Copeland September 5 - Start Speaking Faith Now Dear Edward, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things." (Matthew 12:34-35) Words won't work without faith any more than faith will work without words! It takes them both to put the law of faith in motion. Many believers don't realize that. They'll continually speak words of doubt and unbelief, then they'll jump up one day and say a couple of faith words and expect mountains to move-- and to their dismay, they don't. Why not? Because as Matthew 12:34-35 says, it's the words that come from the heart that produce results. The person who just throws in a couple of faith words now and then isn't speaking them from the abundance of his heart, so they're not effective. Does that mean you shouldn't start speaking words of faith until you're sure you have the faith to back them? No! Speaking words of faith is good spiritual exercise. If you want to receive healing by faith, for example, fasten your mind and your mouth on the Word of God where your health is concerned. Instead of talking about how miserable you feel, quote Isaiah 53:5. Say, "Jesus was wounded for my transgressions. He was bruised for my iniquities. The chastisement of my peace was upon Him; and with His stripes, praise God, I was healed!" If you'll continue to meditate on those words and continue to say them, the truth in them will begin to sink in. Th ey'lltakerootinyourheartandbegintogrow.Andeventually you really will be speaking from the abundance of your heart. When that happens, it won't matter what the circumstances look like. You'll know you have what you've been believing for and the devil himself won't be able to talk you out of it. You'll cross the line from hope to faith, and you'll start seeing those mountains move! Scripture Study: Matthew 12:33-37 If this ministered to you, please share it with a friend! *********************************************************** When you know Jesus, you know more than the fact that death has no sting... Here is another eternal truth that can certainly brighten up your day...I can assure you that it certainly brightens up all of my days... Paul shares this great revealed truth as recorded in his 2nd letter to the Christians at Corinth... 2nd "Corinthians 5:1-9 For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down...when we die and leave these bodies...we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven...homes that will be ours forevermore...made for us by God himself...and not by human hands. How weary we grow of our present bodies. That is why we look forward eagerly to the day when we shall have our heavenly bodies which we shall put on like new clothes. For we shall not be merely spirits without bodies. These earthly bodies make us groan and sigh... But we wouldn't like to think of dying and having no bodies at all... We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will, as it were, be swallowed up by everlasting life... This is what God has prepared for us and, as a guarantee, He has given us His Holy Spirit... Now we look forward with confidence to our heavenly bodies...realizing that every moment we spend in these earthly bodies is time spent away from our eternal home in heaven with Jesus... We know these things are true by believing, not by seeing... And we are not afraid...but are quite content to die... For then we will be at home with the Lord... So our aim is to please Him always in everything we do... Whether we are here in this body or away from this body and with Him in heaven. ![]() |
